With just 8 weeks to the wedding in Dallas, I headed to LA to the garment/fabric district to hunt for ice pink fabric - not easy to find in the middle of winter!   Shawna needed draperies and we hoped to find the perfect fabric for them.

We navigated the fabric district in a frenzy.  There was shopping to do and then kids to pick up - we had a small window of opportunity - we geared up for some serious power shopping and headed into every shop that had a glimmer of pink.   We found the perfect ice pink damask in the very back of a little shop for only $3.99 a yard.
Nearby we found the perfect taupe velvet fabric for Shawna's drapes and a wonderful price to make them as well.
I still needed a companion fabric for the wedding, but we were hungry, so we stopped for lunch at a street vendor and had the most perfect hot dog.  Bacon wrapped and covered in grilled peppers and onions and topped with fresh tomato, cilantro and avocado salsa.  Never would have topped a hot dog with any of it, and yet it was soooo good.
On the way back to the car, with time running out, I saw pink out of the corner of my eye and ran into the little hole-in-the-wall shop to investigate.  It was the perfect ice pink with white polka dot fabric - and only $1.00 per yard.  I grabbed 20 yards and we ran to the car - getting back in plenty of time to pick up kids.
So, now to sew sew sew - I'll be busy busy busy!

We are excited to go back and investigate the shops we didn't have time to get to, but honestly,  I'd go back just for the hot dog!  Fancy a trip?
